Comic Review: Godzilla Cataclysm Issue #3
The Godzilla Cataclysm series has been a pretty interesting one so far. The series takes place in a post apocalyptic world. The kaiju have brought about the end of the world but have not been seen for so many years, That many believe them to be things of legend now. Very few human survivors remain spread out across the world in small camps. Many of the living believe the kaiju were gods angry at them, so now they worship and perform human sacrifices for the kaiju.
In this issue after the return of Godzilla ,Biollante, and Mothra, a Megaguirus swarm attacks the camp in search of the Biollante flower Arata brought back. The flower starts to quickly grow into another Biollante monster. The Megaguirus swarm is soon met by Mothra and then shortly after Godzilla arrives. The Biollante seed is believed to be the last remaining hope to restore life to the planet so Arata must flee the camp in order to keep it safe from Godzilla and the other kaiju that are trying to destroy it.
I have been receiving the alternative subscription covers and the artwork has been awesome. The story idea behind this mini series is really cool and I would like to see where it goes. I think this series would make a really good movie. I don't think the movie would work with the Godzilla universe but maybe a new set of monsters to loosely base a movie off of this series. This is a great mini series so pick it up or wait for them to release it as one complete graphic novel. The graphic novel has not been dated or announced yet but I have no doubt that they will make one. If you are looking for a place to pick up Godzilla comics online I always use TFAW.com. TFAW does a great job and always has reasonable prices plus with black Friday rolling around I am sure you will be able to pick up some Godzilla graphic novels.
